Have you experienced riding econolight on PAL? Compared to cebu pac’s Go Lite, here are some of PAL’s good points:

• You can check-in baggage in PAL, no check-in baggage for cebupac.
• I think PAL’s seats are more spacious.
• PAL is on time.
• As cheap, if not cheaper, than cebupac.

However, some things to mention for PAL: you’re seated at the back, while all other “regular” passengers are seated up front. During flight, the stewards and stewardesses will IGNORE YOU. Believe me, im not exaggerating. They will serve food and drinks (Fita and water/coffee) to all passengers in front of you, and then when they come to your row, they won’t offer you anything. In fact, they will totally avoid making eye contact, making you seem like you’re not there.

Also, i found that the TV monitors in front of us “cheap” passengers don’t work, but all other TV monitors are working fine.

I’m not complaining. After all, i am paying 600pesos less. If you’re willing to forego these conveniences, and agree to look “cheap” and be treated like nobody, then go for it.

I absolutely love the chicken there! Tastes good, and very cheap! 60++ pesos only for a quarter chicken rice meal. nice, right? for that money you’ll only get a small piece of chicken in any other resto. but not here. + the food tastes really good. check it out. i highly recommend it.

When i’m at Fort waiting for my wife at work, I go to Krispy Kreme, order some fancy donut (around 40 pesos). I open my laptop and do some free wi-fi surfing. Then, when they are cooking a new batch of Original Glazed donuts, i just nonchalantly pass by the queue again (maybe buy another donut or ask for some water) and, if your timing is right, they give away free donuts. Fresh, hot from the oven. And best, it’s free. FREE. And we’re not talking dunkin’ donuts here. We’re talking mouth-watering, melt-in-your-mouth, hot-off-the-oven, super soft original-glazed donuts from Krispy kreme.

Now, if someone reading this blog will actually see me in Krispy Kreme doing this technique, pls don’t give me away. i’ve perfected it almost to an art.

Ambiance? excellent! Service? good. Food? satisfactory. Price? too expensive!

An average meal here would be around 200pesos per person. For me, it’s ok to eat at 200 pesos per person, if the food is worth it. But the food just tastes.. normal. Nothing that blew us away. So that’s bad for people like us who’re looking for the best food that comes with the best price.

However, we’ll try to eat there again next time. But when that happens, we’ll just be ordering the seafood pizza (looks good in the picture.. worth 230+ pesos.)

Here’s my everyday routine in my previous work:

1. I eat breakfast at home (or don’t eat breakfast).
2. Commute to office costs around 50pesos (from Tandang Sora to Ortigas: 1 jeep, 2 fx, 1 train). I never take a taxi unless my brother treats me.
3. If i didn’t eat breakfast, i get FREE biscuits from our office pantry, and prepare myself FREE coffee from our office pantry too (never, ever, EVER buy coffee if you have coffee in your office pantry!).
4. I pack my lunch, so i don’t spend anything for lunch.
5. Our office provides snacks, so i eat snacks at around 4pm.
6. Leaving at around 6-7pm, going home costs only 20 pesos (1 bus, 1 jeep, then walk for a few hundred meters).
7. Eat dinner at home. Don’t eat out.

Total expenses for a normal office day: 70pesos.

If there are 22work days in a month, that would be around 1500pesos per month. If you are earning 20000 pesos a month, then you would be saving 18500 pesos per month! now put that 10000 away and lock it away in a safe. You still have 8500 pesos to spend on your gimiks =)

Don’t go telling me that this is impossible. Because i’ve done it. And you can do it too.

Now, my situation is different. In the next part, i’m posting how i’m saving money currently:)

When we got home, we immediately went to our room to have a picture taking session, with the flowers and everything. Hehe. Maybe we would do this every year to see how much we have changed ever since our marriage.

We were able to get tickets easily and get good seats. The movie shown was “The Day the Earth Stood Still”.

Movie? good. IMAX experience? good. Price? WAY too expensive at 350PhP!!!

Never again will we watch IMAX for normal movies. :p

I didn’t really want to create a blog for several reasons:

- it takes time to maintain it.

- i’m not really good in writing stuff.

- when i try to write, it’s as if i’m talking to myself, so what’s the use?

But then, I think it’s high time for me to create one. I’ve been a “computer geek” ever since high school, and i think i should live up to it.
